Text Box: The final meeting before summer break consisted of a bountiful brunch followed by class recognition awards led by Mariellen Combs and Beth Eltinge. The food was not only plentiful but delicious. The fellowship was warm and spirited, as always. 
Mariellen and Beth obviously, devoted much time and energy planning and preparing this morning’s awards event. Mariellen served as Mistress of Ceremonies and began by awarding impressive certificates to all those who provided lessons during this past year (September—June).
Other awards consisted of funny prizes (purchased at dollar store) beautifully packaged in gift bags with the person’s name and reason for award printed on the bag.
Dorothy & Ron Purvis, Pete Grubmeyer and Dave Meyer received best attendance gifts (religious card games).
Beth Eltinge, Marsha Ficken, and Bill Spelling received honorable mention attendance gifts (bottle of blow bubbles).
Dorothy Purvis received “Queen of Prayer” gift for providing morning prayer (Tiara with blinking light).
Ron Purvis received “Mister Technology” gift for website editor (debugging kit).
Jane Johnson & Bill Fairfax received gift for handling class treasury (calculator & fake coins).
Karla Curran, Sharon Hibarger, and Dee Spelling received gift for sending greeting cards  (decorative pen).
Marsha Ficken received gift for keeping attendance roster (package of erasers).
Bill Fairfax received “Mr. Social Award” for leading the social committee (fake nose and glasses).
Marsha Ficken received “Cleaner Upper Award” for taking care of (Cleaning-up) loose ends and keeping class on track (dust pan & broom).
Larry Burke received gift for “Most Attended Lesson Award” about Walt Disney (toy Mickey Mouse).
Mae Mather received  “Mrs. Music Award” for playing piano (fly swatter to get everyone’s attention).
Beth Eltinge, Julia Farr and Gayle Lorenz received gift for helping with music (large glasses to attract attention).
Marsha & Peter Ficken received “Mr. & Mrs. Fun & Games Award” for hosting games night (toy pin ball machine & catch-ball-in-cup toy).
Nancy & Bill Fairfax received “Mr. & Mrs. Hostess with the Mostest Award” for hosting Christmas Party (white elephant & rocking horse).
Christie Johnson received “Mrs. Outreach Award” for her work with hypothermia shelter (hand clapper with confetti).
Pete Grubmeyer received “Mr. Shepherd Award” for all his work at the Lamb Center (toy that jingles).
Jane Johnson received “Mrs. Food Award” for her work organizing meals and receptions (recipe cards).
Dorothy & Ron Purvis received “Heart & Soul Award” for hanging around so long (stick-on lights).
Next Year’s class coordinators Steve & Sue Hopkins, Jane Johnson and Henry Hornbeck received cold packs for all the bumps and burses that go along with the job.
Mariellen was also given nice decorative plant gift from Beth for helping with the awards etc and all the Coordinators were thanked by the class for their hard work this past year.

Farewell reception for Steve & Beverly Bray on Sunday, June 20th following 11 AM worship service in Fellowship Hall.

Class donated $100 each to UMCOR and the Lamb Center.
